OU coach's tweet stirring up controversy

OKLAHOMA CITY -- This tweet is becoming a hot topic: "This is Coach Jay Norvell from Oklahoma. Cell (405) XXX-XXXX Would like to offer you a Full Scholarship to Oklahoma. Call me!"

At first glance this tweet may look like an indication of a potentially bright future for a young football player but this tweet is a little out of season.

Many people are considering this a violation of collegiate sporting rules.

It was sent from Jay Norvell's account, the offensive coordinator for the OU football team.

It was addressed to six different players across the country.

Some believe the public tweet was supposed to be sent as a direct message to the recruits but was sent to everyone.

We stopped by Buffalo Wild Wings on Northwest Expressway to see what sports fans had to say about the apparent oops.

There was a wide range of responses.

Mother and son reunited through Facebook

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A metro man says he will finally be reunited with his mother after nearly 40 years. Bruce Witt says he spent years searching for his mom. All he knew was her name and that she lived in California.

"I found a news clipping online where Facebook united a mother and a daughter so I typed in my mom's name," Witt said.

According to Witt, he found his mother.

His wife says she actually recognized her because they played the same online Facebook game.

"I`ve been looking for so long and then we talked and she cried, I cried," Bruce said.

According to Bruce`s mom, a friend had kidnapped him when he was just a baby.

She spent years searching for him.

The mother and son plan on reuniting in the next couple of weeks.

Good news in OK for home sellers

EDMOND, Okla. -- We've heard a lot about the struggling housing markets across the country, but it seems there is good news about a market right here in the metro. Edmond is a bright spot.

RE/MAX realtor Brian Preston says, "It's a good thing we're in Edmond. It's a good thing we're in Oklahoma. Real estate is all about location, location, location and we have not been hurt here like other parts of the nation."

Last year things were getting good and this year, so far, they're getting even better.

The number of homes closed on in January in Edmond and Deer Creek is up 26 percent from January of 2011.

The buying boom caught homeowner Morgan Stotts and her family a bit by surprise; her home sold in three weeks.

She says, "We actually have nowhere to go. I guess that's a better position to be in than two house payments."

Burglary ends with hacksaw chase, harpoon attack

OKLAHOMA CITY – An early morning break in leaves one man stabbed with a harpoon and another chased with a hacksaw. Oklahoma City Police are investigating the violent home invasion Wednesday.

The couple woke up after hearing a big bang around 6 a.m. at their house, near NW 11th and Roff.

It was their door being forced open.

"I didn't even have a chance to be scared," said victim Eddie West. "It was instant."

West says two armed men kicked in his door, claiming to be police officers.
They called each other Charlie and Echo.

West didn't have time to grab his gun.

"They met me at my door, grabbed me, pulled me out of my bedroom, put a gun to the back of my head and told me if I moved, they were going to shoot me," he said. "He pistol whipped me a couple of times. I got the gun away from him and he grabbed his rifle and started butting me in the face with his rifle."
