Council to discuss proposed election and veterans memorial | News

Female veterans might have a new place to remember their time in the military in Del City.

The city council will be discussing the possibility of designing a women's veterans monument  at Patriot Park. During Monday night's meeting, the council will discuss creating a committee that is comprised of eight members who serve no more than two years on the board.

The council will also be discussing an election proclamation. Mayor Brian Linley will call for a primary election to be held on March 1, 2011 and a general election to follow on April 5, 2011. The election will be to determine the following positions:

• Mayor- to serve 4 years
• Ward 1 council member- to serve 4 years
• Ward 3 council member- to serve 4 years
• Specify polling places

The City Council of Del City will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 6 p.m.
