Peeping tom arrested at metro Walmart

OKLAHOMA CITY — An alleged peeping tom is arrested at a metro store.

The suspect is accused of using his cell phone to snap photographs up the dresses of female customers inside a Walmart near Reno and MacArthur.

“An employee came up and told me somebody was video taping me and I just felt violated,” one victim said. “You know, nobody would think you’re shopping and someone is gonna be walking up behind you and looking up your dress.”

Police claim the suspect, 35-year-old Micah Unruh, had been seen peeping on women the day before being busted.

“The loss prevention officer told officers the day before, on Monday, the same man was seen doing this as well,” Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Elderly OKC man attacked in his own garage

OKLAHOMA CITY — A southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood is on alert after a 76-year-old man was attacked and robbed in his own garage.

“You can’t see laying face down on the concrete,” a bloodied D.G. Mooney said after the crime.

That made it difficult for Mooney to get a good look at the person who had just beaten him Tuesday night at his home.

He’s lived in the 2600 block of S.W. 81st St. for nearly 50 years and had the garage door open on a hot summer night while cleaning up his workshop
.
All of a sudden, he was struck several times in the head from behind and knocked to the ground.

“It was a shock. I was struck extremely hard,” Mooney said. “I looked up at him when he kept hollering ‘give me the money, give me the money!’”

Mooney didn’t know what money he was talking about.

Police look for woman in assisted living home burglaries

OKLAHOMA CITY — The staff at Hefner Mansions said they pride themselves on running a clean and spacious facility.

“We’re proactive in trying to keep our seniors safe and as least restrictive as we can and still keep their independence,” executive director Melva Noakes said.

That’s why she and other staff members are frustrated over a woman they say slipped into the building in mid July.

They caught the woman on camera and said she searched for an unlocked apartment and stole a resident’s wallet as that resident hollered for help.

“As the lady passed by us, we didn’t realize what had happened,” Noakes said.

Police said it’s a crime that sounds very similar to a rash of others all around the metro.

“The M.O. is very similar, the descriptions are very similar, so that is certainly something that our detectives are looking at,” OKC Police Msgt.Gary Knight said.

Nichols Hills Police investigating theft, fraud

NICHOLS HILLS, Okla. — Nichols Hills Police are investigating the case of a single credit card stolen from one of Oklahoma City’s most exclusive country clubs.

June 15th, the head of security at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club reported a stolen business credit card.

Police say it was stolen out of an office at the club, and then used at a dozen businesses around the Oklahoma City metro.

“The individual that used it fraudulently was able to purchase many items. Total, it’s approximately $4000 worth of fraudulent charges.” said Nichols Hills Police Detective Casey Nix.

Police have surveillance video from four metro stores; in each of them there is a woman in bright colored clothing detectives want to talk to.

They are calling her a person of interest.
